Many HR managers would happily rely on data-supported search and selection processes for recruitment, but their good intentions frequently come to nothing because of a lack of specialist knowledge. This is the finding of the recent Randstad-ifo HR manager survey . At Randstad, a significant cause for the only hesitant introduction of digital processes is identified in a lack of training. “In an age of a shortage of qualified across-industry employees, training of a company’s own workforce can make a significant contribution to coping with the pressure for progress,” according to Dr. Christoph Kahlenberg, Head of the Randstad Academy.

Randstad is not alone in its analysis. The TÜV Association commissioned a corresponding study at the beginning of the year in which the necessity for companies to radically review their staff development concepts became apparent. TÜV is calling for a culture of staff development in which regular training can be taken for granted.
