Digital sovereignty and protection against cyber attacks
IT/OT security and cybersecurity for industry are the focus at HANNOVER MESSE 2024. At the Industrial Security Circus in Hall 16, secunet Security Networks will be demonstrating live how machines can be secured, attacks on systems successfully detected and warnings triggered via messenger.

According to its own statement, secunet Security Networks from Essen is Germany's leading cybersecurity company. In an increasingly networked world, the company ensures resilient digital infrastructures and the highest possible level of protection for data, applications and digital identities with a combination of products and consulting. The Essen-based company specializes in particular in areas that place increased demands on security, such as the cloud, IIoT, eGovernment and eHealth. With a team of more than 1,000 experts, secunet strengthens the digital sovereignty of governments, companies and society. Its customers include federal ministries, more than 20 DAX-listed companies and other national and international organizations.
At HANNOVER MESSE 2024, secunet will be showcasing various approaches to data security. For example, secunet edge will enable the secure transfer of data, including via the cloud - even with older machines. After all, cloud technology offers numerous advantages in terms of flexibility, availability, costs and performance. And so more and more companies are using data outsourcing, even in security-critical areas in the production environment. However, as practical as the technology is, it is also complex - and offers numerous points of attack for cybercrime, not least for this reason.
With stashcat, a secure and easy-to-use messaging and collaboration platform, secunet is adding useful functions to internal communication and thus improving the efficiency of teams. With stashcat, companies can define individual user roles with their own authorizations that can be used with any Internet-enabled mobile or stationary device, without the need for cell phone numbers. The platform also offers genuine end-to-end encryption for maximum data security.
Finally, with the new secunet monitor KRITIS, secunet shows how a network monitoring system can support KRITIS companies in meeting current and future legal requirements. The system for attack detection (SzA) is not only specially designed for the needs of critical infrastructures, it is also designed to be easy to use. The signature- and pattern-based attack detection takes into account not only current (e.g. IT-SiG 2.0), but also future regulations such as NIS-2.
