Digital sovereignty is increasingly becoming a decisive competitive factor for industrial companies. Against the backdrop of geopolitical shifts, growing security requirements, and rapidly increasing data volumes, companies are looking for solutions that combine control, independence, and the ability to innovate. This is exactly where Schwarz Digits comes in.

At HANNOVER MESSE 2026, the company positions itself as a technology partner for industry and SMEs, with a clear focus on sovereign cloud infrastructures and practical AI applications. The role these topics will play in the future is highlighted in a conversation between Hubertus von Monschaw and Bernie Wagner, offering insights into strategy and solutions ahead of the event.

A key building block is the STACKIT cloud platform. It was developed with the goal of creating a European alternative to existing hyperscalers—open, independent, and designed for maximum data sovereignty. At the same time, the offering goes beyond traditional cloud services: with solutions for edge, fog, and core infrastructures, Schwarz Digits covers the full spectrum of modern IT architectures. Systems remain stable and operational even in the event of disruptions.

This is built on the industrial experience of the Schwarz Group itself. As one of the largest food producers, the company understands the demands of complex production and logistics processes firsthand. This expertise directly feeds into the development and optimization of its digital solutions.

Artificial intelligence plays a central role. Many processes—such as logistics, product availability, and production planning—are already managed using AI. At the trade show, Schwarz Digits will present concrete applications that make these capabilities tangible. This includes, for example, an AI-based automation cell that can flexibly handle different production steps and scale within existing operations.

At the same time, security continues to gain importance. Companies must ensure that sensitive data and critical infrastructures are protected while remaining flexible to use. Schwarz Digits therefore consistently relies on open-source technologies and European data processing to reduce dependencies and secure long-term flexibility.

The company will not only be present in Hall 14. On the CENTER STAGE in Hall 25, Bernie Wagner will share insights in his keynote on why sovereign cloud infrastructures are becoming the foundation of global competitiveness. He will also join the panel “AI: An opportunity for Germany and Europe” to discuss opportunities for Europe as an innovation hub.
