Detect and analyze vibrations in three dimensions with the PSV-500-3D Scanning Vibrometer
Share
Vibrations in structures and objects are perfectly normal and can never be completely avoided, particularly in mobile operations. What becomes problematic is when these vibrations lead to adverse acoustic or – even worse – structural effects. Comprehensive laser vibrometry scanning has been used for years to detect such negative deflection shapes and resolve acoustic and vibration issues up front, during the development phase for new components or products. Polytec is presenting a system at HANNOVER MESSE 2014 that can identify undesirable vibrations even in three-dimensional spaces.
The PSV-500-3D Scanning Vibrometer is a unique tool for test and simulation engineers to quickly and very accurately determine operating deflection shapes and eigenmodes of complex objects across a wide range of frequencies. The measurement data meets stringent performance, accuracy and data analysis requirements for both structural dynamics testing and ultrasonic evaluations, by reflecting the actual vibration characteristics of the real object – thanks to the non-contact method applied by the PSV-500-3D Scanning Vibrometer.
