On the path to digital production, medium-sized companies are facing two central problems in particular: high investment costs for modernization of production and a shortage of qualified personnel . Assistance with both of these issues could come from the startup drag&bot, which has just secured seven-digit seed finance for further development of its operating system for industrial robots . The software is designed to facilitate easy programming with no specific IT knowledge using the drag & drop principle.

The startup is using a cloud solution in which users combine various function blocks with one another. They are supported in this by input and operating assistants which automatically detect and apply the movement of a robot arm by means of manual control, teach pendant or the navigation in the system. The system can be extended with additional modules and allows, for example, integration of cameras for intelligent image processing. drag&bot supports the hardware of ABB, Kuka, Fanux, Denso, Universal Robots and other manufacturers.
