Since early August of 2018, the energy and gas provider E.ON has become the third investor to sign on to Lumenaza , a new company which describes itself as a “software provider for the new, decentralized, and digitalized world of energy.” The other two investors alongside E.ON are EnBW New Ventures and VC Fonds Technologie Berlin (under the direction of IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH).
Lumenaza’s software, which is flexible and can be scaled, connects renewable-energy generators (from small solar-power facilities to major wind farms) with energy providers, and makes precise calculation possible. The modular software platform allows its customers to offer advanced solutions such as “utilities in the box” – these include community and regional power, as well as innovative superregional rate schemes with time-based rates, flat rates and peer-to-peer energy solutions. The funding acquired during this most recent round will be used in part to further advance the company’s internationalization, according to Lumenaza’s founder and CEO Christian Chudoba.
