Empolis wants to create a standard for digital twins
Empolis, the software company from Kaiserslautern, is taking over the company intelligent views and its software solution “i-views”. It intends to make digital twins for industry smarter.5 Apr 2020 Kai Tubbesing
i-views is a knowledge graph technology that makes human knowledge readable for machines and allows digital representation. By merging with intelligent views, Empolis wants to create a standardized software to create digital twins for industrial machines and products.
Empolis is connecting the approach to its AI-based cloud application Service Express to support service staff digitally. The program provides technicians with context-based information and guides them through a maintenance process, step-by-step. The connection of supplementary augmented reality glasses allows personnel to work on components freehand and to keep an overview of all relevant maintenance instructions. An upcoming extension of the software will enable it to depict information about the entire life cycle of a machine or product using digital knowledge graphs and conduct an AI-based analysis of this information for different departments such as production, maintenance and sales.
