Under the new ENGINIUS brand, FAUN, a vehicle manufacturer specializing in municipal vehicles, is one of the first suppliers worldwide to offer hydrogen-powered trucks in series production. Thorsten Baumeister, COO of ENGINIUS, accepted the award at the Energy 4.0 Forum at HANNOVER MESSE.

The H2Eco Award was launched this year by the German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (DWV) and Deutsche Messe. The award recognizes technical innovation, economic efficiency and entrepreneurship as well as the contribution to climate protection. H2Eco stands for a hydrogen market economy that operates according to the principles of economic efficiency and in the spirit of sustainability. The jury determined that ENGINIUS best fulfilled these criteria.

"We are pleased that our performance was honored today by the H2Eco Award. It shows that our long perseverance has paid off and that we are on the right path to making the future climate neutral," said Baumeister.

The award was presented by Werner Diwald, chairman of the board of DWV, and Arno Reich, senior vice president at Deutsche Messe.

Werner Diwald: "With the H2Eco Award, we are sending a clear signal that companies are ready and that the market ramp-up has already begun. This is clearly demonstrated by our winner this year, ENGINIUS. It is no longer about research and development, but about the concrete market launch. Politicians must now also create the conditions for this."

In addition to ENGINIUS, Clean Logistics SE and eFarming GmbH (GP Joule) were among the finalists present at the award ceremony.
