In the world of Ganter standard components, bow handles open up a veritable universe of possibilities, according to the manufacturer. From elegant curved shapes and practical angled variants to handles with integrated switching functions or ergonomic finger recesses—Ganter offers the right solution for every requirement and application, manufactured from high-quality aluminum, stainless steel, or robust plastic.

The GN 565 bow handle—now both a bestseller and a classic—was created about half a century ago, when the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee was searching for solutions that were as ergonomic and aesthetic as they were affordable. They found it in an extruded aluminum profile that achieves its handle geometry through bending. This principle remains relevant today, including for the GN 565 standard, which has just been expanded. The new bow handle extends the standard’s range upward in terms of dimensions: with a solid elliptical cross-section of 35 by 25 millimeters and mounting lengths between 250 and 500 millimeters, the handle is highly load-bearing. Perpendicular to the mounting plane, the handle withstands up to 6,400 Newtons; parallel to it, 5,900 Newtons. Even heavy sliding doors or hatches can thus be operated. Thanks to these values, it can also be used as an aesthetically pleasing protective or retaining bar. The bending radius and the distance between the handle and the mounting plane are designed to be glove-compatible.

Since the new variant adopts the design language of its smaller counterparts, consistent design solutions are easy to implement. Upon request, Ganter manufactures custom sizes, different bend angles, special mounting threads, or provides custom color schemes—with short lead times.

A wear-resistant imprint of the company name or logos on the grip surface, integrated into the coating system, is also available as a custom solution, which strengthens the brand identity of the equipment and machines thus equipped.

The GN 565 handle bars come standard with a UV-resistant, black, textured matte powder coating for outdoor applications. Additionally, finishes in red or silver, as well as anodized or polished surfaces, are available. For sensitive areas in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, the antimicrobial-coated version is recommended, which effectively reduces the growth of bacteria or viruses on the grip surfaces thanks to silver ions.
