With the fully automated Battery Pass, the Franconians are now helping companies implement the new EU requirements for battery transparency in a simple, efficient, and future-proof manner. Developed in collaboration with Neoception GmbH, the module—based on the HEITEC IDX—transforms regulatory requirements into a clear competitive advantage.

With the Battery Pass, users benefit from a digital life cycle record that documents the entire life cycle of a battery—from raw material extraction through production and use to recycling. All relevant data, such as material composition, carbon footprint, and performance and operational data, are standardized and accessible at the touch of a button. The Battery Pass is provided within the Asset Administration Shell and enables cross-organizational maintenance of technical data. Via a QR code, manufacturers, integrators, operators, or end customers can access complete product information, sustainability metrics, and usage histories at any time. This creates transparency, compliance, and added value throughout the entire value chain.

The new Battery Pass module expands the proven HEITEC IDX middleware, which makes production processes flexible, transparent, and cost-efficient. Thanks to its modular architecture, all data relevant to the Battery Pass can be easily integrated without the need to build a new data infrastructure.
