The proven M50E five-cubic-meter unit from the e-power series from Kaeser, the compressor specialists from Coburg, is getting a new variant with an innovative control system: In addition to the existing version with a robust star-delta start-up, the M50E SFC (Sigma Frequency Controlled) with a frequency converter is now available. According to Kaeser, this technology significantly increases the flexibility of the portable construction compressor and offers decisive advantages for a range of applications.
Thanks to the frequency converter, the maximum pressure can now be flexibly adjusted between six and eleven bar. This enables precise adaptation to different applications, such as blowing out formwork at seven bar or dry ice cleaning at ten bar. At the same time, the frequency converter ensures a reduced starting current. This is particularly advantageous in sensitive power grids, when operating on generators or for future-proof applications with external battery storage. This effectively avoids grid overloads. In addition, the motor speed is automatically regulated depending on the air requirement, whereby the power consumption is optimized and the energy efficiency is further increased. This should not only save costs, but also make the operation of the M50E SFC even more sustainable.
Despite its expanded range of functions, the M50E SFC remains a compact and easily transportable system that weighs less than 750 kilograms. It can be equipped with either a rotomolded, impact-resistant polyethylene canopy for mobile applications or a zinc-phosphatized, powder-coated metal canopy for stationary applications. Both variants offer optimal protection and durability. Another environmentally friendly feature is the optional compressed air aftercooler: As with all e-power Mobilair compressors, the condensate that is discharged is collected in a special canister and can be disposed of properly. The new M50E SFC will not only be used on construction sites with a power connection, but will also provide valuable service as a bridging system during service work on industrial compressor stations. According to Kaeser, it will set new standards for mobile construction compressors in terms of efficiency, flexibility and sustainability.
