Based in Hanover, voraus robotik GmbH is a young company deeply rooted in the robotics scene that places the combination of modern software development and industrial automation technology at the center of its work. The team’s origins lie in the cobot pioneer Yuanda Robotics, which was founded in 2017. In early 2022, the company underwent a transformation and realignment to become voraus robotik GmbH, which has since consistently positioned itself as a software specialist and transferred its hardware operations to a partner in order to focus on intelligent software solutions.

Under the leadership of Dr.-Ing. Jens Kotlarski (CEO), who had previously helped build Yuanda Robotics, a team of experienced engineers and software and robotics experts has grown to more than 30 employees. Experienced specialists such as Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tobias Ortmaier, Philipp Georgi, Jan Carstensen, and other co-founders bring together expertise in robotics, real-time systems, electronics, and artificial intelligence.

Technologically, voraus robotik relies on a software-centric automation platform designed to make industrial automation more flexible, faster, and implementable across different manufacturers. While traditional automation is often heavily tied to proprietary controllers or PLC logic, voraus’s approach enables the integration of robots, sensors, and AI software using modern development and control methods. Users can efficiently implement, simulate, and execute complex automation processes in real time using features such as Python interfaces, no-code graphical interfaces, and modular software add-ons.

A key advantage of the platform is its vendor neutrality and openness—users are not tied to specific robot or control manufacturers but can flexibly orchestrate systems from various providers. In this way, voraus robotik helps companies implement automation projects faster, lower costs, and simultaneously reduce technical dependencies.

A prime example of the company’s strength is its collaboration with the Munich-based cobot manufacturer Agile Robots: voraus robotik continues to supply the generic control software for the “Yu” cobot, while Agile Robots handles production and marketing. This partnership underscores the company’s strategic focus on software and intelligent control.
