An engine mount based on natural rubber made from dandelion roots, an ultralight floor covering for the aerospace sector and robust, high-performance rubber crawler tracks are three of the sustainable solutions and future-focused technologies that ContiTech is exhibiting for industrial and off-highway applications at HANNOVER MESSE 2016. Last but not least, the rubber and plastics specialist’s fourth highlight - a high-performance belt for the lift drive of rack feeders - once again proves the great heights materials expertise can scale.

Together with sales partner Synchrotech, ContiTech has developed a new technology for the lifting function in rack feeders based on the block-and-pulley principle. The "flashed belt drive" combines two classic mechanical concepts in a unique way. At the heart of this patented system for high-bay warehouses lies another Synchrodrive timing belt from ContiTech with exceptionally low wear or need for maintenance. What’s more, it doesn’t even need lubrication. The belt can be used to move pallets weighing up to five metric tons, achieves larger accelerations and can lift up to 30 meters and more. Thanks to this innovative Synchrodrive belt, ContiTech is breaking new ground in performance levels.
