US security provider Carbon Black has published its first Threat Report for Germany , for which London-based market research company Opinion Matters surveyed some 250 managers from German companies across a variety of sectors in January 2019. The findings show that 92% of the companies had fallen victim to security breaches in 2018, often multiple times: In 43% of cases, there had been between three and five incidents; in 6% of cases, managers even reported ten or more incidents.
85% of the companies taking part in the survey had experienced an increase in cyber attacks, for some, attacks were even up more than 50%. 72% of the managers surveyed also stated that threats were becoming increasingly complex. Consequently, they are planning to increase their investment in cyber defense by an average of 26%.
