German electrical and electronic exports holding their own
The German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI) has published the latest figures: In contrast to incoming orders, production, and revenue, exports from the German electrical and electronic industry saw robust growth in January 2019.

Exports to Europe grew in January 2019 to €11.7 billion, up 5.7% on 2018. Deliveries to the eurozone amounted to €6 billion – an increase of 9.1%. In a comparison of the individual European countries, the highest increases were achieved in Italy (+11.1% to €864 million), Austria (+10.4% to €757 million), and Switzerland (+9.4% to €607 million). Electrical and electronic exports to countries outside of Europe also rose by 3.3% to €6.3 billion. Thailand (+35.2% to €100 million) and Japan (+22.7% to €316 million) saw particularly strong growth.
