Softing Industrial Automation is expanding plantPerfect Monitor with features for evaluating and reusing industrial network data. Version 2.10 can send notifications via email or Microsoft Teams when events occur and makes asset and network data available to other applications via an i3X REST API. plantPerfect Monitor monitors PROFIBUS and PROFINET networks in a web-based application. The software uses data from Softing’s smartLink components for this purpose and centrally displays device inventories as well as status, diagnostic, and statistical data.

Track Events More Effectively

In version 2.10, users can receive notifications about events via email or Microsoft Teams. A revised event list also shows past status changes. This allows maintenance teams to track changes in the network and respond quickly. For PROFINET devices, the new version supports GSDML files to display diagnostic information in greater detail. Customizable names for devices, networks, and servers make it easier to map the displayed data to your own facility.

Reusing Network Data

The new i3X-compatible REST API allows asset and network data from plantPerfect Monitor to be integrated into other applications. Additionally, users can export asset data to Microsoft Excel, for example, to analyze or document device inventories outside the monitoring application.

Integration with smartLink

For PROFIBUS, Softing’s smartLink HW-DP Gateway collects the network data. For PROFINET, smartLink HW-PN performs this function. The components transmit the data to plantPerfect Monitor via MQTT. Operation of the monitoring software requires the corresponding smartLink components.
