German Edge Cloud (GEC) and T-Systems will jointly pursue a go-to-market approach for data ecosystems in the manufacturing industry. The partnership combines T-Systems’ expertise in integration, onboarding, and connectivity across various data ecosystems—including Catena-X—with German Edge Cloud’s industrial SaaS solution, ONCITE. The goal is to provide customers with practical, ready-to-use use cases that accelerate digital transformation across manufacturing ecosystems.

The collaboration focuses on traceability and industrial AI. The ONCITE Digital Production System (DPS) will also be offered in the future as a SaaS application in the Telekom Cloud via the Red Hat OpenShift Container-as-a-Service platform.

From a successful showcase to scalable implementation

The benefits of data ecosystems for manufacturing companies were already demonstrated in a successful showcase by GEC in collaboration with Cofinity-X. Now, GEC and T-Systems are working to scale this added value and further deepen the value creation through data ecosystems across the entire manufacturing industry. By combining cloud integration expertise with industrial edge innovation, customers benefit from seamless implementation and measurable results.

“Scalable, secure solutions with measurable added value”

T-Systems will leverage its strong digital presence in the manufacturing industry to lead sales and implementation activities and ensure end-to-end project execution as well as close customer engagement. German Edge Cloud contributes its ONCITE SaaS solution and comprehensive product expertise and supports implementation and enablement.

“Our customers don’t need more concepts—they need results. By combining our integration and connectivity expertise with industrial SaaS innovation, we turn visions into operational reality. Together, we enable scalable, secure solutions with measurable added value across the entire manufacturing value chain. This partnership underscores our commitment to driving genuine digital transformation for our customers,” says Elke Anderl, Chief Commercial Officer at T-Systems.

The partnership aims to provide standardized, scalable industrial solutions that are easy to implement and integrate into existing production environments. For AI workloads of the ONCITE-X AI applications, the plan is to use Deutsche Telekom’s Industrial AI Platform—in line with the target architecture for computationally intensive AI models and future joint AI services.

Focus on Growth Areas and Partnerships

The collaboration addresses key initiatives in the field of data ecosystems, including Catena-X, where interoperability, trusted data exchange, and AI-driven insights are increasingly becoming critical success factors. By coordinating with relevant ecosystem partners and industry initiatives, the companies aim to expand digital value chains and increase the digital maturity of their existing customers. The joint approach supports companies in unlocking new efficiency potential, improving transparency, and leveraging industrial data for smarter decisions.

From Vision to Implementation

The partnership includes coordinated market activities, joint governance structures, and clearly defined solution portfolios. Pilot projects with selected customers are intended to validate use cases and demonstrate the concrete business value of the combination of industrial SaaS and secure integration services. In addition, both companies will collaborate at marketing and industry events in 2026 to present their joint solutions and highlight best practices for digitalization and data ecosystems in the manufacturing industry.

Driving scalable digital ecosystems

Through this collaboration, T-Systems and German Edge Cloud reaffirm their commitment to building open, scalable, and customer-centric digital ecosystems. The partnership underscores their shared goal of making Industry X scenarios not only technically feasible but actually usable in everyday industrial operations—thereby transforming digital potential into real business success.
