With its four gripper fingers and a vacuum chamber, the new piSOFTGRIP 100-4 can handle objects up to 100 mm wide. Like all other members of the piSOFTGRIP family, it is made from one piece, making it a simple and robust product. Made of detectable silicone approved for direct contact with food, the vacuum gripper can be used to automatically handle all types of fresh, unpackaged and delicate foods without damaging or crushing them.
The piSOFTGRIP vacuum grippers are said to be a cost-effective, compact and robust solution for delicate as well as fragile objects for a wide range of applications, even where space in machines is limited. They are said to be as easy to control and install as a suction cup. That's because they don't require special programming to provide the right gripping force for gentle but safe handling of delicate objects.
Because of its intuitive and user-friendly design, the piSOFTGRIP is said to integrate easily with automated processes, helping to improve product quality and increase overall productivity. The piSOFTGRIP 100-4 is the largest variant in a series of grippers consisting of the three-finger-based piSOFTGRIP 50-3 and 30-3 variants for handling small fruit and chocolates, and the two-finger-based piSOFTGRIP 50-2, an optimal gripper solution for small, delicate and elongated items such as wafer cones or pieces of fish. The grippers in the piSOFTGRIP family can be integrated into applications requiring multiple picks or used as stand-alone tools.
