With the ever-increasing feed-in of electricity from volatile renewable energy generators, it is growing more difficult to ensure that the final connection to the local grid transformer is supplied at the correct medium and low voltages. Modifying the distribution grid will be of particular help here. At HANNOVER MESSE 2014, ABB is presenting an additional solution concept: intelligent local grid stations.

ABB is offering trade fair visitors a comprehensive overview – from preconfigured solutions for existing local grid stations or aerial applications to special solutions for network cabling. The developers at ABB know that, in addition to load management, distribution grid operators need to communicate with the grid control system and optimal connection. ABB’s intelligent local grid stations are a particularly good solution for distribution grid automation, with integral grid status recognition to stabilize the voltage range for medium- and low-voltage customers, document voltage quality and ensure adequate supply reliability.
