HANNOVER MESSE creates "Young Tech Enterprises" showcase
Can parts be joined without welding, soldering or glue? Can process chains be managed cost-effectively and seamlessly via the cloud? Is there a way of applying heat to ferrous metals without using a naked flame? Answers to these questions and more were presented by fledgling high-tech companies at HANNOVER MESSE 2015. The world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology is now gearing up for its 2016 season with an expanded offering for these young industrial-sector innovators.

Young companies operating at the high-tech end of the industrial technology sector tend to be drivers of innovation with a healthy appetite for risk and investment. They bring renewed competition to the markets they enter and they pioneer new business models. In short, they are important catalysts of growth and innovation for classic industrial companies and should be fostered and supported. And that, precisely, is why the organizers of HANNOVER MESSE are creating a new "Young Tech Enterprises" showcase for the fair’s 2016 season (25 to 29 April). It’s a place where young industrial entrepreneurs will be able to network with business development agencies, cooperation partners, investors and market incumbents.
"Industry demand for startups and the solutions they can produce is huge. So we have now created a dedicated hub to help give up-and-coming entrepreneurs the attention they deserve," commented Dr. Jochen Köckler, the Deutsche Messe Managing Board member responsible for HANNOVER MESSE.
The "Young Tech Enterprises" showcase will be located in Hall 3 at HANNOVER MESSE. It will feature an exhibition area where technology startups, next-generation entrepreneurs, startup networks, accelerators and development agencies can get noticed. At the heart of the showcase will be a forum that will provide valuable information on young technology enterprises throughout all five days of the fair. The program will be rounded out with a solid lineup of pitching events, matchmaking forums and workshops. The unifying purpose of all elements of the “Young Tech Enterprises” showcase is to facilitate dialogue and exchange among young technology providers and established industry heavyweights.
Köckler: "Innovation and agility are critical success factors in modern industry. Young companies possess these qualities in abundance, but they often lack the necessary business experience, financial backing and strategic thinking. This is where ‘Young Tech Enterprises’ comes in. It gives these upbeat newcomers a showcase offering superb networking and coaching on everything from how to find the right personnel and implement business models to the ins and outs of venture capital, patents and intellectual property protection."
The participants at "Young Tech Enterprises" will also benefit from close proximity to the startups and business development organizations participating at the Research & Technology show next-door in Hall 2, not to mention direct access to fellow exhibitors and investors in Hall 3, which is also home to the Partner Country USA showcase and Global Business & Markets .
