Advantech, a global leader in the field of intelligent IoT systems and embedded platforms, has now announced the launch of the industrial IoT gateway UNO-247 V2. This is the Taiwanese company's latest addition to its successful UNO-200 series for IoT automation. Equipped with the Intel N97 processor, the UNO-247 V2 is set to play a key role in the automation industry and smart manufacturing by enabling remote maintenance, decision-making and connectivity at the industrial network edge. As an intermediary between sensors, actuators and cloud systems, the manufacturer claims it offers a high-performance solution for latency-critical applications. By reducing reliance on centralized computing, the UNO-247 V2 improves industrial protocol integration, increases system reliability, optimizes bandwidth utilization, and enables advanced features such as predictive maintenance, advanced cybersecurity, and seamless integration into industrial IoT ecosystems, driving digital transformation and innovation in the industry.
Comprehensive I/O connectivity for seamless industrial integration
The UNO-247 V2 features extensive I/O interfaces, including four Gigabit Ethernet ports, six serial ports (two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-485), four USB ports, and dual display outputs via HDMI and VGA. This extensive connectivity ensures seamless integration into various industrial systems and makes it the ideal solution for complex automation environments, according to Advantech.
Increased performance for edge computing applications
Powered by the Intel N97 processor with a clock speed of up to 3.6 gigahertz, the UNO-247 V2 offers exceptional computing performance for edge applications and a performance increase of over 160 percent compared to its predecessor. The system supports up to 16 gigabytes of DDR5 memory and offers flexible storage options, including mSATA and 2.5-inch SATA drives. This increased computing power enables the smooth processing of resource-intensive applications while ensuring reliable operation in industrial environments.
Future-proof design with flexible expansion options
The innovative design of the UNO-247 V2 prioritizes flexibility and ease of maintenance. Screw-down cable mounts enable secure connectivity, while the optimized mechanical design provides easy access to memory via the base plate. In addition, an iDoor expansion slot is reserved to flexibly support future expansions and industrial requirements. This adaptable design ensures that the UNO-247 V2 meets changing industrial requirements while ensuring continuous operational capability.
