AI methods, as well as decision-making and optimization procedures, have been in use by client companies in PSI products for around 30 years. At HANNOVER MESSE 2026, Berlin-based PSI Software SE will, among other things, present its latest development, which brings interaction with algorithms to a voice-controlled level. This is made possible by combining adaptive AI decision-making and optimization algorithms with Generative AI (Gen-AI) in RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems.

For the manufacturing industry, PSI is introducing the cloud- and workflow-based Manufacturing Execution System (MES), which enables intelligent, balanced detailed planning for line production with AI-based functions in the Sequencing module. In addition, the Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) will be presented with new functions for controlling and optimizing production processes. A highlight is AI-supported document capture as well as the online help system enhanced by generative AI, which offers appropriate recommendations for action when questions arise.

Workflow-based mobile ERP and MES solutions, which enable dynamic process modeling and the customization of user interfaces, are also part of the trade show lineup, as are the latest developments in the Warehouse Management System, including the Batch AI module integrated into the standard version. This optimizes single-stage and two-stage picking strategies using rule-based and AI-supported batch formation.

For the metal industry, the cloud-enabled and service-oriented production management solution—focused on generative AI—will be presented as the PSI Factory Model, featuring a “Model Context Protocol Interface.” The Chatbot Factory Model & Documentation serves as an intelligent bridge, combining direct database access to production data with in-depth knowledge from system documentation for the first time. In addition to ERP and MES topics, PSI will also be represented at the VDMA booth in Hall 15, Booth D36. Using practical examples from the mechanical and plant engineering sectors, the presentation will demonstrate, among other things, how companies can master the transition from reactive planning to data-driven processes and optimize their production capacity utilization through AI-based functions.
