The advantages of drones in industry are obvious. On the one hand, the aircraft make an unused space economically exploitable, on the other, drones are often much quicker in moving parts from A to B, writes the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover . The fact that the size of the unmanned aircraft is scalable anywhere from a camera drone to a helicopter makes it even more attractive.

But so far, there are hardly any drones in production. The institute therefore wants to compile existing information about indoor use of drones and develop a demonstrator that shows businesses the development potential of the technology. The institute is still looking for firms as project partners that are interested in using drones in their production and companies in which drones have already taken to the air. They can contact the IPH up to April 15, 2019.

A working group has also been established on the topic of drones by the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics professional association. It is intended to discuss how economically viable use cases can be established involving drones in intralogistics.
