While previous educational concepts at universities have addressed the topic of artificial intelligence by means of focal points and specialization units within the framework of other courses of study, TH Ingolstadt is taking a new path: the southern German university claims to be the first educational institution to offer students an application-oriented Bachelor’s degree program in AI .
Future specialists will be equipped to use self-learning software, robots, and self-correcting systems as well as interpret and manage the growing flood of data resulting from networked manufacturing. This should enable students to play a decisive role in shaping the digital revolution in industry, logistics and robotics. The seven-semester degree program, scheduled to start in the winter semester 2019/20, is closely linked to ongoing projects at the "Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AININ)” with its joint university and non-university research program (Audi AG is one of the project partners involved).
