According to the company, the Moto Smart Scanner combines Lenovo's computer expertise with Motorola's mobile intelligence. This results in a powerful and ergonomic device with improved security that meets the increasingly complex requirements of customers for enterprise resource planning, electronic health record management and optimizing point-of-sale operations.
Smarter workflow for the whole day
With its 6.5-inch HD+ multi-touch display and integrated Honeywell barcode scanning engine, the Moto Smart Scanner enables fast, accurate scanning. Powered by an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 with fast dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 connectivity, the device offers fast and reliable performance. Its 5,000mAh battery with USB-C 2.0 and pogo-pin fast charging is designed to provide uninterrupted operation throughout the workday, while its ergonomic design with scan trigger and hand strap maximizes user comfort.
“Quality device that customers can rely on”
“Businesses live on data, and having a smart, reliable tool to capture and process that data is critical to operations,” said Marc Godin, Vice President and General Manager, Smart Devices Solutions Group, Lenovo. ‘The combined innovation of Lenovo and Motorola technologies in the Moto Smart Scanner makes this mobile computer scanner a quality device that customers can rely on.’
Protected Inside and Out
With data security playing an increasingly important role, the Moto Smart Scanner is protected by ThinkShield, Lenovo's portfolio of cybersecurity solutions that includes AI-powered endpoint protection to secure devices from the operating system to the cloud. The device's rugged design also ensures that it can withstand the rigors of retail, healthcare and industrial work environments. And as a last line of defense, the devices come with a one-year Moto Care Extended Service Plan.
CO2 emissions offsetting
To address the sustainability aspect, Lenovo provides a seamless, transparent process for offsetting the estimated CO2 emissions associated with each device, starting with manufacturing, through shipping and typical use, and ending at the end of its lifecycle. These emissions are then offset by purchasing credits in support of climate protection projects verified by independent organizations such as the United Nations, CDM, Gold Standard and Climate Action Reserve. The Moto Smart Scanner will be available in the U.S. and Canada in early 2025, with other markets to follow soon.
