Rockwell Automation, the world's largest industrial automation and digital transformation company headquartered in Milwaukee, USA, unveiled the new FLEXLINE 3500 Motor Control Centre (MCC) at HANNOVER MESSE 2024 this spring. By integrating with intelligent motor control units, the FLEXLINE 3500 MCC can provide real-time operational and diagnostic data for critical equipment, helping manufacturers increase productivity and save energy at the same time

Identifying risks before problems occur

"Hannover is a trade show of global importance, where industry-relevant topics such as Industry 4.0, smart devices and sustainability take centre stage," explains Diego Wilches, global product manager at Rockwell Automation. "Our connected technology provides real-time operational data and enables manufacturers to identify and solve problems before they occur. It can also increase the energy efficiency of motor control and reduce power consumption during operation. Hanover is the ideal place to showcase this new offering."

Designed for many industries

The modular design of the motor control centre can be adapted to many low-voltage motor control applications and factory space requirements. The technology has also been developed for a wide range of industries, from food and beverage to oil and gas. When the FLEXLINE 3500 Motor Control Centre is integrated with intelligent frequency converters, manufacturers can also significantly reduce power consumption. In addition, the Motor Control Centre is designed to integrate motor control and power distribution in one centralised package, meeting IEC 61439-1&2 standards for global customers. According to Rockwell, the intelligent devices in the FLEXLINE Motor Control Centres bring significant benefits, such as reducing unplanned downtime through alarms and advanced diagnostic information, lowering maintenance and energy costs, increasing production throughput, improving plant and personnel safety, reducing engineering and commissioning costs, and supporting sustainability and environmental footprint by reducing the need for cables.

Intelligent control as a strategic advantage

"The integration of intelligence into manufacturing is an important change that manufacturers are strategically implementing. And with the introduction of the FLEXLINE 3500 Motor Control Centre, Rockwell Automation is providing plant operators with greater insight," said Craig Resnick, Vice President of Consulting at ARC Advisory Group. "By enabling data-driven decision making through intelligent motor control technology, manufacturers can improve profitability, productivity and operational efficiency."
