With the GK Series, THK offers profile rail guides from the LM Guide product family, whose carriages and guide rails are available separately from stock. The standardized components can be combined within the respective series and in accordance with the specified requirements. They are based on the mounting dimensions specified in ISO 12090-1 and ISO 12090-2, respectively.

This separate availability gives machine manufacturers greater flexibility in designing their systems. Carriages and rails can be configured as needed, provided that the model series, precision class, and other compatibility requirements match. Different preload classes are also available within the system. This allows linear guides to be tailored more precisely to design requirements and existing machines to be modified as needed.

There are also benefits for inventory management and maintenance. Companies can stock the required carriages and rails separately, rather than keeping all possible combinations on hand as complete units. If a carriage needs to be replaced, the replacement can be limited to that single component. This can reduce the need for spare parts and help minimize downtime.

The product range includes the HSR and SR ball guides, as well as the SHS and SSR ball-chain variants. The GK series is complemented by the HDR guide, the SRG and HRX roller guides, and the RSX and SRS miniature guides. The mounting dimensions specified in ISO 12090-1 apply to the first-mentioned series, while ISO 12090-2 applies to the RSX and SRS series.

The GK Series is therefore aimed at machine builders and plant operators who wish to flexibly configure their linear guidance systems and procure replacement parts more efficiently. Interchangeability is limited to the designated GK components and the respective compatibility specifications; however, this should not be interpreted to imply blanket interchangeability with conventional guides supplied as complete sets.
