Emerson, a leader in industrial technologies for advanced automation, was recognized for its DeltaV Workflow Management software at the ninth annual IoT Breakthrough Awards. This award recognizes Emerson's next-generation software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution designed to help life sciences companies develop, scale, and manufacture life-changing cell and gene therapies more efficiently.

Suitable for companies with limited IT infrastructure

DeltaV Workflow Management is designed for companies with limited IT infrastructure in the early development phase. The cloud-based software solution transfers drug formulation workflow data from paper-based records into a digital form, providing a simple and scalable solution that requires no coding experience.

“More agile, flexible and scalable processes”

“Life sciences companies play an extremely important role in the fight against disease by bringing new, safe drugs to market as quickly as possible. To do this, they need more agile, flexible and scalable processes to quickly move their products through the development pipeline and make them available to the commercial market,” said Nathan Pettus, president of Process Systems and Solutions at Emerson. ”Our new DeltaV workflow management software enables companies to easily create and implement recipes and collect data electronically, so they can focus on innovation.”

Digital transformation generates further advantages

Building on the Boundless AutomationSM vision, the new Emerson software also generates searchable and exportable digital records, making it easier to analyze and report on data. This digital transformation also minimizes the risk of contamination associated with paper records in sterile clean rooms.

Not the first time a winner

Emerson has been a multiple winner of an IoT Breakthrough Award since they were first introduced. The program recognizes innovators, industry leaders and visionaries worldwide in a range of IoT categories, such as Industrial IoT, Enterprise IoT, Consumer IoT or Connected Home. This year, more than 3,850 applications were submitted by companies worldwide. “Emerson is a constant presence at our IoT Breakthrough Awards because it is an industrial technology company that is innovating in critical areas of production, reliability, safety, human resources and sustainability,” said Steve Johansson, Managing Director of IoT Breakthrough. ”We congratulate the Emerson team on winning the Industrial IoT Innovation of the Year category at the ninth annual IoT Breakthrough Awards.”
