According to the university , the program, for which anyone interested in setting up a company can apply, simplifies the process, and thereby access to financing in the startup preparation phase. The program is divided into three phases, each lasting up to three months, must be completed in Saarbrücken, and supports participating startups with up to €65,000 in financial support. In the first phase, a suitable startup team is found, while the second phase involves the development of a promising business model and the completion of a prototype. The third phase is dedicated to the search for investors and coaching in presentations for promoting the business idea to potential investors. Applications can be made to the IT incubator at any time.
The location in the comparatively small Saarland region should not put off applicants. As a study conducted on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) shows, around six out of ten incubators are national incubators.
