Laser cutting machine for small production volumes
The new TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition is designed to offer proven TRUMPF quality at a manageable investment cost. The laser experts from Ditzingen promise that the machine will pay for itself even at low capacity utilization. In addition, the new development is designed to give users access to numerous TRUMPF services.

The Ditzingen-based family company TRUMPF is launching a new laser cutting machine that is primarily aimed at customers with smaller production volumes who are looking for a reliable machine with low investment and operating costs. According to TRUMPF, the TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition offers the same quality standard as the company's high-end models, but is significantly cheaper. “With the new TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition, we are offering companies a technologically superior and robust alternative to low-priced models from abroad. This is how TRUMPF lives up to its claim of offering every customer a suitable solution,” says TRUMPF Product Manager Patrick Schüle. What's more, users get the same access to TRUMPF's proven customer service with the machine.
Lower price thanks to fixed range of functions
For the new TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition, TRUMPF has adapted the range of functions of its TruLaser Series 1000. As a result, the machine dispenses with various functions that are primarily relevant for users with high throughput. “When companies have a lower production volume, it is often not worthwhile to have their own sheet metal production because they cannot utilize conventional machines to full capacity. With the new TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition, users like this will be able to produce the parts they need themselves in the future. This provides flexibility and independence,” says Schüle.
Universal cutting unit with reversible collision protection
The proven universal cutting unit with reversible collision protection remains in the TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition. This means that if the cutting unit collides with a component that has been cut free, it deflects and the operator can then simply push it back into the holder by hand. To prevent collisions from happening in the first place, the TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition also works with the nanojoint technology developed by TRUMPF, in which the components are fixed with minimal holding points and are therefore particularly easy to remove after cutting.
Ease of use and outstanding customer service
“We have an extremely strong presence in Europe. This means that a service technician who speaks the local language and can provide expert assistance is quickly available to our customers,” says Schüle. In addition, the TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition is particularly easy to use, which helps to counteract the shortage of skilled workers and reduce errors. For example, the machine already has the appropriate cutting parameters for all common materials and sheet thicknesses. The production employee only has to select the cutting program for the job on the user interface. Among other things, parameters for cutting with compressed air only are also stored, which, in addition to the lower initial investment, should also minimize running costs.
Clever online monitoring function
The cutting unit of the TruLaser Series 1000 Lean Edition is also equipped with an online monitoring function. This checks the condition of the protective glass of the cutting unit and informs the operator at an early stage if it becomes dirty. If unexpected cutting problems should arise, the “Cutting Guide” function supports the operator and guides him step by step through the process of identifying the cause and solving the problem.
