Pfeiffer Vacuum, based in Asslar, Germany, is one of the world's leading developers, manufacturers and suppliers of solutions for vacuum technology and leak testing. With the newly launched HiQuad Neo mass spectrometer, Pfeiffer Vacuum says it combines high performance, flexibility and ease of use. The mass spectrometer is said to achieve a particularly high measuring speed of up to 125 μs/u. It is characterized by very good sensitivity and a large dynamic range. Depending on the application, different mass ranges, rod diameters, ion sources, detectors, interfaces and cable lengths can be selected. With these properties, the HiQuad Neo is particularly suitable for applications in research and development, but also for integration into analysis systems and for cleanliness verification in EUV lithography.

Pfeiffer Vacuum points out that devices from the previous generation can also be updated to the latest technological level of the HiQuad Neo by using some existing components, such as the analyzer. This is intended to reduce waste and costs.

The mass spectrometer is easy to operate with the help of the PV MassSpec software. According to its developers, it offers a clear and user-friendly platform for recording and displaying measurement data and parameter sets. With the integrated sequencer, complete measurement sequences can be programmed easily and automatically. One click is all it takes to carry out leak detection and vacuum diagnostics. The software also enables automated calibration and tuning. It is easy to define measurement recipes and it is also possible to link mass spectrometric data with external signals. Alternatively, it is also possible to communicate directly via the Ethernet interface (via OPC-UA). These functionalities are designed to provide an efficient and user-friendly solution for a wide range of applications.
