Matt black instead of rust red!
HIWIN GmbH now also offers its DATORK strain wave gearboxes with corrosion protection, using a modern technology for surface treatment. This should open up further application possibilities.

The drive specialist HIWIN from Offenburg in the Black Forest is now using a modern surface treatment technology to ensure corrosion resistance for its strain wave gears, thus increasing the range of applications for the DATORKER series. The positioning and repeatable strain wave gears are used whenever a high gear reduction is required in a confined space.
The matt black oxide layer, between five and seven micrometres thick, is designed to protect the strain wave gears wherever the metal surfaces come into contact with non-oil-based liquids such as water or coolants. In addition to fully coated DATORKER, HIWIN also offers the option of coating only individual components of the strain wave gear at the customer's request. Whether as a gearbox set, plug and play solution or as a complete package consisting of gearbox, motor adapter, servo motor and drive amplifier – HIWIN is presenting customized drive solutions for desired applications from a single source at HANNOVER MESSE 2025.
