Sustainable mobility technologies are drivers of growth in the 21st century. The call for economical, climate-friendly vehicles is great. Industry and public authorities are investing in new drive trains, storage technology and a network of charging stations. But how can electricity be stored to capture peak loads and contribute to the security of supply? What possibilities do integrated infrastructure solutions provide to the future energy system? Hydrogen, fuel cells, solar power or methane – what will power vehicles in the future? What about battery performance and other storage systems? What direction are charging infrastructure and electronic control systems developing in? How is this affecting logistics, public transportation and car sharing providers? What opportunities are there for logistics, public transportation and vehicle sharing?

"There is no lack of urgent questions regarding mobility facing the industrial, political and research sectors," says Benjamin Low, Head of Energy at HANNOVER MESSE. "The answer can certainly be found in the intelligent integration of technologies." There are many promising approaches – but too often the participants are simply working in parallel instead of together.

"It is no longer possible to separate energy and mobility," says Benjamin Low. "With focus areas on mobility technologies, infrastructure, intermodality and storage technologies MobiliTec will be showcasing successful factors found in modern mobility solutions and how to integrate them. The previously separate MobiliTec flagship fair will be integrated into the redesigned Energy fair. Beginning in 2016 this special show can be found in Hall 27 – immediately adjacent to the Hydrogen & Fuel Cells & Batteries pavilion.

The show will revolve around the MobiliTec Marketplace with the MobiliTec forum . Experts from the automotive industry, electrical engineering, and machine and plant construction will meet here with professionals from user industries. Together with politicians they will discuss mobility concepts for the future, manufacturing technologies, intermodality and electricity and charging infrastructures. The events have been organized in cooperation with the Research Association for Drive Engineering for VDMA (FVA/VDMA), the Federal Association of the Energy and Water Industry (BDW) and the Federal Association of Solar Mobility (BSM).

Another venue for users, developers and investors is the MobiliTec group pavilion. Companies specializing in drive and electrical engineering, the energy sector, the supply industry, and machine and plant manufacturer will be presenting their new solutions here.

In addition, a great live event awaits at the open-air exhibition ground next to Hall 27: Visitors can test drive unconventional vehicles and try out new charging systems. Since the first test drives five years ago, the MobiliTec Testparcours has become a major visitor attraction at HANNOVER MESSE. Visitors can get behind the wheel for a test drive on an area covering 15,000 square meters. Over 1,500 test drives allow hybrid vehicles and purely battery and fuel cell operated cars to demonstrate their road capability. Innovations in charging technology and infrastructure – from tethered systems such as charging boxes and stations to inductive electrical power supply and charging systems – are also presented at this proving ground which is operated by TÜV Nord.
