More and more companies are moving to the cloud
Cloud computing is developing into the standard for German industry and is being used by a significant majority of firms. But cyber security remains a problem.

According to the latest Cloud-Monitor 2019 , a cross-industry survey of 553 German companies, cloud computing is being used by 73% of respondents. Only 10% rule out the trend; three years ago this figure was about a third. Among users, a majority of 53% opt for a private cloud environment in their own company network, 35% for the public cloud; the others use a hybrid form.
So-called multi-clouds, in which users obtain services of the same sort from various providers, are becoming increasingly attractive to companies. 16% of public cloud users want to protect themselves in this way, 20% hope to avoid breakdowns and 24% want to be able to access additional resources at full capacity. The question of cyber security remains a problem, however. 73% of those surveyed who have chosen not to use the public cloud cite potential unauthorized access to sensitive data as the reason.
