More Measurement Technology in Less Space
WIKA is introducing compact sensors for the continuous measurement of density, viscosity, and temperature of gases and liquids. The new DTG-30, DTL-30, and VTL-30 models utilize MesoScale technology and are suitable for industrial applications as well as hazardous areas.

WIKA has introduced a series of sensors that continuously monitor the fundamental properties of gases and liquids. The DTG-30, DTL-30, and VTL-30 models feature a compact, robust design. This allows them to be integrated into a wide range of applications, whether in OEM products and systems or in industrial environments. Even where installation space is limited, the devices are designed for easy integration—for example, on tank trucks, fully equipped industrial skids, in analytical instruments, or as retrofit solutions. The compact design is made possible by an innovative technology called MesoScale, a patented combination of sensor design, sensor control, and software. MesoScale combines the advantages of sensor miniaturization with a proven stainless steel construction. As a result, WIKA has developed devices that measure the density, viscosity, and temperature of liquids and gases with high precision in process applications.
Typical applications include, for example, the identification and quality monitoring of fuels. For example, the DTL-30 can be used to detect incorrect fueling, monitor the mixing of additives, and convert volume flow to mass flow. The sensors also contribute to the decarbonization of industry. The VTL-30 measures the viscosity and density of amine solutions, thereby helping to ensure the performance of this core technology for carbon capture.
The robust design, including 316L CrNi steel parts in contact with the measured medium, ensures durability under harsh operating conditions. Since the sensors exhibit only minimal drift and have no moving parts, users benefit from high long-term stability without the need for regular calibration. The devices are certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with ATEX, IECEx, and FM.
The sensors are designed to deliver accurate measurement results across the entire calibration range and offer high repeatability. They calculate confidence factors in real time, which provide insight into the quality and validity of the measurements. Response times are short, and measurement results are output at a frequency of 1 Hz. The DTG-30 can be connected to the BSU-30 processing unit. This unit combines various sensor inputs and calculates parameters such as average molar mass and specific gravity.
