Turck from Mülheim an der Ruhr describes itself as a global partner for factory, process and logistics automation in numerous industries. And indeed, with its digitally networkable solutions for efficient automation systems, the company is one of the pioneers of Industry 4.0 and IIoT. At HANNOVER MESSE 2023, Turck is now showing its latest solutions for a networked and climate-neutral industry in Hall 9 at Stand H55. Visitors will learn how automation technology can help to master the enormous challenges facing production and logistics today. With sensor-to-cloud systems, condition monitoring or decentralised automation, it should be possible to design processes that are error-free, networked, transparent and at the same time energy-optimised.

IIoT connects worlds: Seamless data communication between sensor and cloud

Digitalisation has been making its way into more and more industrial sectors for some time now. Technologies such as IO-Link, RFID and Ethernet increase the amount of data from the machine environment many times over, and cloud services enable mobile access worldwide. But how do you extract the information that is really relevant for a company from the Internet of Things - without overloading networks or revealing protected content? Turck's answer: with networked sensors, efficient edge controllers and simple cloud solutions - in short: with decentralised automation.

Big Data becomes Smart Data

Big data is specifically filtered into smart data via decentralised pre-processing. In this way, parameters, process values or status messages can be used specifically and securely for the purpose of corporate applications - for condition monitoring, for example. But the consistent networking of sensors with higher-level IT systems such as clouds opens up many more possibilities. Bidirectional communication, for example, allows remote access to devices and plant segments, which pays off in global service operations, among other things. In addition, high data availability paves the way for completely new processes in production, logistics and supply chain management.
