Electric lifting cylinders replace pneumatic and hydraulic systems
They remain powerful even under the toughest operating conditions and save time and money in the process: electric lifting cylinders are increasingly replacing pneumatic and hydraulic systems in work machines. At Rodriguez GmbH, customers will find a large selection for a wide range of applications, including the latest generation of smart models.

Rodriguez GmbH, based in Eschweiler near Aachen, is one of the leading suppliers of thin-section, precision and special bearings as well as linear technology for a wide range of industrial sectors. The West German company's portfolio also includes components and systems for the automotive industry. And with its extensive range of electric lifting cylinders, Rodriguez GmbH covers almost all performance classes, with dynamic force transmission of up to 40 kilonewtons, stroke lengths of up to 2,000 millimetres, speeds of 5.8 to 2,000 millimetres per second and protection classes of up to IP69K. A smart controller integrated into the housing also allows the user to monitor critical parameters during operation and adjust them if necessary.
Stronger, quieter, more precise
electric lifting cylinders move very heavy loads and are used in mobile work and construction machinery as well as in commercial vehicles. In contrast to pneumatic or hydraulic systems, they are much easier to install and less complex, as there is no need for expensive and space-consuming pumps, compressors, valves and many hoses. They are also easier to integrate into computer-aided control systems and can be controlled more precisely, as well as consuming less energy.
Improved efficiency
"Those who replace hydraulic and pneumatic systems with electric linear actuators benefit from improved machine performance and can significantly reduce energy consumption thanks to the improved efficiency," explains Jörg Schulden, Head of Linear Technology at Rodriguez GmbH. "Thanks to the simple size selection, quick installation and reduced maintenance requirements, the costs of the overall system can be reduced at the same time."
The right solution for every application
The Electrak XD electric lifting cylinder is one of the latest developments on the market and is particularly suitable for extreme operating and weather conditions, for example for construction machinery in energy plant construction, and impresses with load capacities of up to 25 kilonewtons and stroke lengths of up to 1,200 millimetres. Rodriguez also has many other models in its range, such as the Elektrac HD, PC and T series, which differ according to dynamic load, stroke length and speed, as well as their drive type, mounting configuration and optional features. "We adapt the systems to the requirements of the respective application, which means that every order is customized, even for larger quantities. For example, individual intermediate sizes for stroke lengths or a higher load capacity can be implemented," summarizes Jörg Schulden.
