Based in Switzerland, Ascom is a global solutions provider that focuses on numerous areas, including mobile workflow solutions. The company's vision is to close the gaps in digital information to ensure everyone can make the best decisions possible - anytime and anywhere. At HANNOVER MESSE 2019, the company is participating in the Smart Electronic Factory (SEF), an information and demonstration forum for Industry 4.0., where it is exhibiting its new professional smartphone - the Myco 3 - as part of an IoT showcase.

At the heart of this showcase is a manual assembly workstation (Bosch Rexroth ActiveAssist) that is integrated into a digital production control and operator guidance system. If faults or failures occur in the system, the relevant members of the service team are notified via a message sent to their Ascom Myco 3, which has been specially designed for industrial use. But the Myco 3 is also promised to be the ideal communications tool for production staff who are constantly on the move. For example, it makes sure there are always sufficient materials available at the production site to support the manufacture of numerous variants. How? It ensures digital material requests are immediately and reliably passed on to the right warehouse staff. Guido Gloy, Solution Market Manager for Ascom in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, explains: "As a specialist in closing the digital data gaps with mobile workers, Ascom puts the vital finishing touch to solutions for digital production management. The unique mobile solutions from Ascom eliminate the breakdowns and delays that can happen when information and notifications are being passed between people, machines and central databases."
