Since 2017, automation specialist Beckhoff from Verl, Germany, has already implemented machine vision on the software side as TwinCAT Vision in its TwinCAT 3 PC-based control technology. Now the East Westphalian company is following up on the hardware side and presenting all the components for comprehensive vision systems with cameras, optics and lighting. This provides machine builders and end users with a complete vision system that covers all the necessary components, from software to lighting, and is designed to provide users with significant competitive advantages when integrated into the system.

Integration also in existing systems

With Beckhoff Vision, real-time image processing can be easily integrated into both new and existing control environments and optimally synchronised with all machine and plant processes. The historically strict separation between vision and automation technology is further eliminated through system integration in all environments. At the same time, the Beckhoff vision components impress with their robust, attractive design as well as high scalability and long-term availability.

Start directly into industrial image processing with the unit

In addition to individual components, Beckhoff also offers a complete VUI (Vision Unit Illuminated) imaging solution for direct entry. As a compact unit comprising camera, illumination and focusable optics with liquid lens technology, the VUI is intended to significantly reduce the effort required for installation and commissioning. According to Beckhoff, the focus adjustment during runtime makes it particularly suitable for variable component heights, for example in logistics applications. In addition, all functional components are encapsulated in a stable housing made of anodised aluminium according to protection class IP65/67.

Comprehensive and precisely fitting accessories

Finally, the entire system is rounded off by accessories and flexible cabling solutions that have been precisely matched to the hardware components by Beckhoff. The complete product catalogue enables one-stop shopping for machine vision with the vision hardware portfolio.
