Of fences and almost limitless possibilities
Variable production requires standard-compliant safety guards in the production environment that can be implemented and modified quickly, cost-effectively and flexibly. With its extended EcoSafe program, Bosch Rexroth is aiming to set new standards in the modular design of safety fences and protective enclosures.

Bosch Rexroth AG, known primarily for its drive and control technologies, has revised its EcoSafe range of modular components for safety fences and protective enclosures. The declared aim was to optimize efficiency, flexibility and equipment safety. This was achieved primarily through supplementary frame profiles, direct panels that can be assembled quickly and connecting elements that reduce the assembly effort, so that new installations, conversion projects and extensions can be implemented more quickly. The free MTpro planning software shortens the planning process with numerous design aids, automatically generated parts lists and the option of ordering directly from the Rexroth online store.
Fast assembly with pre-assembled direct panels
With the new frame profile, assembly teams can make rapid progress in terms of space, especially with linear safety fences. For their assembly, the EcoSafe portfolio also includes quick-to-assemble "direct panels" in addition to the hook-in panels. These are also available pre-assembled from stock and can be set up in no time at all. Two adjacent direct panels are simply connected at the bottom using the new universal base and at the top using a robust fastening cap and secured with just a few screws in accordance with standards. The new universal base accommodates either two 22.5x45 mm protective frame profiles or one 45x45 mm standard profile and is secured to the floor with two standard stone screws without drilling. This should reduce the time required by around 60 percent. For non-linear arrangements, the base offers a kind of hinge function to adjust the angle between the protective grids.
Leading equipment safety
Bosch Rexroth has also taken care of stability and equipment safety. All safety guards have welded wires and are fixed in the frame profile with a toothed mount. As a result, the grids can absorb significantly more energy than the 115 joules required by the standard. Thanks to verified performance data, there is no need for a separate load capacity test. The suspension brackets, which are now made of steel, increase the stability of the safety fences with suspension panels.
Black safety mesh and individual dimensions
For a flicker-free view inside the safety guard, the improved EcoSafe safety guard is also available in black as an option. The continuous ground clearance of 150 millimetres ensures the maximum value of 180 millimetres required by the standard, even on uneven surfaces. With the EcoSafe standard elements, safety fences of different sizes can be set up quickly and flexibly. The standard frame height available from stock is 2,000 millimetres including ground clearance and therefore covers the majority of applications. The standard widths are available in dimensions of 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 millimetres.
Individual protective field dimensions beyond the standard dimensions can be ordered using configurable field numbers. For special configurations, the frame height can be between 400 and 2,500 millimetres and the width between 250 and 2,500 millimetres. The ground clearance can be freely selected in the range from 100 to 250 millimetres. In the case of the suspension bay, the floor clearance depends on the positioning of the connecting elements.
Quick planning and digital engineering
With the free MTpro engineering software and the MTpro Online Designer, which can be used from any location, the safety fences and protective devices can be planned, calculated and documented in just a few steps. Time-saving design features include automatic parts list generation, simple exchange or printing of layout data and direct transfer to the Rexroth Online Shop or a partner company.
