The acronym MQTT (for "Message Queueing Telemetry Transport") refers to an open network protocol for machine-to-machine communication that enables the transmission of telemetry data in the form of messages between devices, despite high delays or limited networks. Corresponding devices range from sensors and actuators, cell phones, embedded systems in vehicles or laptops to fully developed computers.

Reliable partner for the global development community

Freiburg-based cedalo GmbH has established itself as a reliable partner for the global development community in the MQTT segment since it was founded in 2017. The company is behind the well-known open source projects Mosquitto and Streamsheets, whose development as high-quality, industry-ready solutions with premium support is steadily progressing, which is why they have long since outgrown their infancy.

Robust range of functions

Behind the current Pro Edition version 2.7, available since November 2023, is a commercial Mosquitto MQTT broker with a robust range of functions and special support channels. Compared to the original open source version, Pro Mosquitto offers professional MQTT broker and client management available via the Mosquitto Management Center web interface. It also offers MQTT high availability, a robust set of MQTT and REST APIs, enterprise-level integrations such as Kafka and MongoDB bridges, the Prometheus exporter, improved reliability, enhanced security and other features designed to make Pro Mosquitto an ideal solution for IoT projects.

At home everywhere

According to cedalo, Mosquitto implements full Sparkplug Awareness Broker functionality for interoperability of industrial devices and software systems, ensuring consistent and reliable data exchange. Pro Mosquitto can be deployed as a managed (cloud) or self-hosted (on-premise) instance on Docker (Linux, Windows, macOS, Raspberry Pi), RPM (RedHat, CentOS, Rocky Linux) and Kubernetes (Linux, Windows, macOS) to suit respective budgets, existing IoT infrastructure and individual business requirements.
