The owner-managed company icotek is one of the leading providers in cable management. With the new KEL-DPF-OD series, the Swabian-based company now offers cable entry glands specifically developed for demanding environments—whether strong UV radiation, extreme temperature fluctuations, dust, or high humidity.
The robust grommets offer high protection ratings, are easy to install, and are also approved for use in photovoltaic systems.
Outdoor applications place special demands on cable entry grommets. These are usually permanently exposed to strong UV radiation, rain, snow, and temperature fluctuations. With standard solutions, these influences often lead to embrittlement, material fatigue, or leaks. The KEL-DPF-OD cable entry grommets were specifically designed for such applications. The polyamide used in combination with TPE (thermoplastic elastomers) meets the requirements of the F1 listing according to UL 746C and ensures long-term UV and weather resistance.
Protection classes IP66 and IP68, certified according to DIN EN 60529:2014-09, offer reliable protection against the ingress of dust and water. The grommets are also suitable for use in photovoltaic systems and meet the relevant UL requirements according to UL 6703, UL 6703A, UL 3703, and UL 1703. Especially in installations that are permanently exposed to weather conditions, a high level of sealing is crucial for operational safety.
The required size of the cable entry is usually determined only during on-site installation, as it depends on the cable diameter. The planned cable gland or cable gland is therefore often either too large or too small and thus does not fit properly. The KEL-DPF-OD offers greater flexibility: The very large variable sealing range (3 to 60 millimeters) makes it possible to securely seal a wide variety of cable diameters with a single solution. The reliable strain relief also increases the service life of the entire cable connection.
In addition to its robustness, the product also impresses with its ease of installation and flexibility. Thanks to the flexible design of the cone, the cable can be inserted and positioned much more easily compared to conventional cable glands. Even the angled insertion of inflexible cables is possible. The gland with a locknut (included in the scope of delivery) saves installation time and reduces maintenance requirements.
