Pistons instead of balls
AIGNEP, a leading manufacturer of fluid and compressed air components, has now introduced the X7F, a coaxial valve with a unique design.

AIGNEP, a company based in Bione in the Italian region of Lombardy, was founded in 1976 as a supplier of fittings for the plumbing industry. Over the years, the company has become an important player in the field of automation components and fluid management. Today, AIGNEP has eleven subsidiaries and exports its products to more than 100 countries worldwide.
One of the company's latest achievements is the X7F, a coaxial valve made of AISI 316L stainless steel. According to the Lombard company, what makes the X7F special is its unique design, in which the internal piston is moved by air to open and close. This is claimed to make controlling the flow of a liquid through the piston ten times easier and more efficient than with a conventional ball valve. The stainless steel body material is suitable for a wide range of fluids, including aggressive liquids such as chemicals or industrial wastewater.
The X7F is available in seven different sizes from G3/8 to G2 inches. The standard design is a normally closed (NC), single-acting 2/2-way valve with FKM seals. Versions that are normally open (NO) or double-acting are also available on request, along with EPDM seals for steam applications. The valves are highly corrosion resistant and, according to the manufacturer, guarantee leak-free operation. The robust valve design is also said to withstand vibrations, mechanical loads and temperature fluctuations. As a pneumatic valve, the X7F can be directly actuated with fittings, but it is likely to be controlled by Namur 08VS or 08VP valves, which can also be obtained from AIGNEP.
