The engineers at RECENDT from the Austrian city of Linz are confidently promising a "groundbreaking event" courtesy of the nation-wide collaboration "Industrial Methods for Process Analytical Chemistry – From Measurement Technologies to Information Systems", or imPACts for short. This joint project is being run by the Austrian research network PAC – Process Analytical Chemistry and is co-funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW), the Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) and the federal states of Upper and Lower Austria.

Developed by the research collaborative and other partners including the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH), the entirely new infrastructure for the long-term operation and maintenance of spectroscopic measuring equipment used in process analytics (dubbed "ChemSaaS – Chemometrics as a Service") is on show at HANNOVER MESSE 2016. The team has chosen various case studies to demonstrate how ChemSaaS can be used to optimize the operation and maintenance of process spectrometers as part of Industry 4.0. For instance, the ChemSaaS measuring system created by the PAC research network enables efficient process analytics for optimizing processes in the food industry.

Besides ChemSaaS, the Austrians are premiering an industrial OCT measuring system that is bound to prove a further trade fair highlight in Hannover. OCT stands for optical coherence tomography, a procedure used to geometrically measure microscopic laser holes in high resolution. RECENDT has joined forces with partner company Plansee to present live demonstrations of this customized industrial analysis system at HANNOVER MESSE 2016.
