Public clouds are endangering businesses’ security
The use of cloud services is becoming common practice for most companies. But in doing so, it seems that security is being neglected: This means that sensitive data can be taken from privately used devices.

According to a study by the security service McAfee , many businesses save sensitive information in the public cloud. In doing this, they are using services that have already been compromised in the past. Another problem is the use of shadow IT – which are services that are used without testing. Networking between different cloud services or the use of the cloud on private devices can threaten a business’s security. That’s why experts recommend that businesses keep an overview of where their sensitive information is stored at the moment. Local networks as well as the cloud and employees’ private devices should be arranged in secure architecture.
Believe it or not, as the digital association Bitkom reported , there is an annual loss of more than 100 billion euros to the German economy because of analog and digital attacks. What were previously hobby hackers have developed into “well-equipped and tech-savvy cyber operations.” Firms’ internal security measures are decisive in combating these.
