Renesas acquires integrated device technology for $ 6.7 billion
The Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Renesas Electronics Corporation aims to expand its position in the world market for embedded solutions. Integrated device technology is specialized in high-performance computer applications.

With the purchase of Californian IDT, a high-performance computing and consumer applications expert, for example in current monitoring, the Group is now adding sensor and RF products as well as SoCS and power management ICs to its portfolio. Renesas is leveraging the acquisition to prepare for the requirements associated with the Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data as well as automated and e-mobility, while expanding internationally.
