In past years and decades, corporate sustainability efforts tended to meet with a divided response in the media and in public perception. Fortunately, however, the wind has changed. Today, convincing and ambitious agendas - beyond greenwashing and other half-heartedness - are virtually expected and, if actually present, also appreciated. This is the case at Schneider Electric from Rueil-Malmaison, a suburb of Paris. At the end of last year, the global specialist for energy management and automation received the German Sustainability Award in the category "Transformation Field Climate".

The tech company, which will also be represented at HANNOVER MESSE 2022, was honored above all for its holistic and digital IoT solutions, which enable sustainable and resilient business across all sectors. The jury of the independent German Sustainability Award Foundation also highlighted Schneider Electric's internal efforts to improve climate protection. Building on the successes already achieved, the group, which has around 4,700 employees in Germany, is pursuing a clear strategy to reduce its own ecological footprint to a minimum in the future. In this context, Schneider Electric has already been named the "World's Most Sustainable Company" by Corporate Knights at the World Economic Forum. That's what you call a run - one that makes more than sense to continue.
