The robot-controlled process automation (RPA) of the French company Contextor , which was founded in 2000, takes care of repetitive tasks for business software users. It does so using interactive application wizards and standalone bots that operate within and between different applications. Contextor's customers are using more than 100,000 bots that allow them to automate their business processes.
SAP plans to integrate RPA into all of its existing products to further automate and simplify business processes. RPA will be linked to the SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Conversational AI (speech recognition) and document processing capabilities provided by SAP Leonardo Machine Learning. RPA should be available in SAP S/4HANA as early as the first half of 2019, with further applications following in stages. SAP aims to automate half of all business processes in its core applications within three years.
