The Munich-based startup Security and Safety Things GmbH (SAST) is a fully-owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH and works closely with the recently founded Open Security & Safety Alliance . Companies have come together in this non-profit initiative to develop common standards for an open platform for security solutions. Along with Bosch Buildings Technologies , the founders of the alliance are the companies Hanwha Techwin , Milestone Systems , Pelco and VIVOTEK .
The ecosystem developed by SAST currently specializes in AI-compatible security cameras of the latest generation. Programmers can develop and market open standards via the associated app store. The focus is initially on building security and a few other areas of application such as predictive maintenance. “SAST is introducing a new standard for the development of innovative applications in the field of security”, explains managing director Hartmut Schaper. In doing so, the company is not only creating a free operating system, but also “a global, secure and scalable digital marketplace for software solutions.”
