Sensor data show new ways for safe parts cleaning
Technical cleanliness and cleanroom suitability are becoming increasingly important in the digitized industry. The German Trade Association for Industrial Parts Cleaning (Fachverband Industrielle Teilereinigung – FIT) has set up the QSREIN 4.0 program for this purpose.20 Apr. 2018 David Schahinian
QSREIN 4.0 consists of three components, reports the Maschinenmark t (German online trade magazine) at the FIT conference , which took place mid-March in Ulm. While the first carries out research into the fundamentals of process engineering, the second will provide demonstrators with information on the costs and benefits of new approaches. The third element is model solutions, which should result in a systematic and efficient development.
A specific application example came from medical technology – more precisely, the manufacture of dentist drills. In practice, the process data for cleaning were recorded by sensors. This allowed fault messages and relevant information to be traced back to individual batches, reported the cleaning equipment manufacturer Pero . “Data collection is also a relief for the plant operator,” according to the report from the Maschinenmarkt. A barcode scanner automatically assigns the correct cleaning program to each part. The networking of the cleaning system has, among other things, resulted in higher product quality and better reproducibility.
At the meeting SEW reported on paint adhesions on aluminum components. In the end, it became clear that not enough was known to ensure stable cleaning processes. In collaboration with the cleaning equipment manufacturer Mafac , a standard for the cleaning process was then developed.
Other providers, such as the Swiss technology group Stäubli , are already making full use of robotics. The range of products includes six-axis robots for use in wet rooms used for parts cleaning in the automotive industry, reported automobil-produktion.de .
